Kim Selwood Miniature Furniture

Kim Selwood is an architect whose interest in furniture design started with a visit to Denmark as a student in the 1950s. After forty years in architectural practice he retired in 1999 and is now a full time miniature furniture maker.

Kim is English but has lived in Helensburgh in the West of Scotland for over forty years. His furniture making is done in a workshop adjacent to the family home. He has been making miniatures for fifteen years and has exhibited regularly in both Scotland and England. His work is included in many private collections and can be seen in museums in England, Holland, Switzerland and America..

Kim is particularly interested in 20th century furniture but sees any new piece of furniture as a challenge. Much of his work is commissioned and has included making miniatures of clients’ own furniture.
